ABOUT US

Achord Eye Clinic opened in February 2000. The clinic has a full service optical lab with the latest in lens technology and the latest designer frames and sunwear. Other services include comprehensive eye examinations with dilation and contact lens exams and fittings (soft, rigid, bifocal and astigmatic). Achord Eye Clinic is a service-oriented practice where patients and patrons can get special treatment from a knowledgeable doctor and staff. All of the clinic's opticians are certified by the American Board of Opticianry.

DR. SHONDA ACHORD

Dr. Shonda Doucet Achord, a Gonzales native, graduated from St. Amant High School, LSU and the University of Houston College of Optometry.

While at LSU, Dr. Achord was a member of Beta Sigma Kappa, International Optometric Honor Fraternity. At the University of Houston College of Optometry, Dr. Achord was the recipient of the Contact Lens Achievement Award for outstanding performance in a contact lens clinic. She was also recognized for clinical excellence with particular proficiency in the areas of allergic eye disease and pathology.

DR. MICHAEL ABBOTT

Dr. Michael Abbott, a Baton Rouge native, graduated from Christian Life Academy, Southeastern Louisiana University, and Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tenn.

While at SCO, Dr. Abbott received the Basic Sciences Achievement Award for his outstanding performance in Basic Sciences. Dr. Abbott was also a member of Beta Sigma Kappa, International Optometric Honor Fraternity.

Dr.’s Achord & Abbott are members of the American Optometric Association and the Louisiana Optometric Association.
