Our mission is to provide services in an ethical, legal and caring way to both birth families and prospective adoptive families. We treat each adoption as an individual case, meeting the needs of all parties involved. The purpose of the agency is to support prospective adoptive families and birth parents in their goal of working toward an adoption over which they have control.

About the Agency

The Executive Director of Adoption Planning, Rhonda Fishbein, formed the agency after working several years as an attorney practicing primarily in the area of adoption law. After identifying several needs of prospective adoptive parents and birth parents pursuing independent adoptions that could only be met by a licensed child-placing agency, she applied for and received a license to operate as a child-placing agency in January of 1990. Since that time the agency has completed more than 200 adoptions and provided many other adoption services to the community. Not only does Rhonda Fishbein have a law degree, but she also has a masters degree in counseling. The agency staff includes three masters level adoption counselors, two of which have been working for this agency nearly eight years. There are also support administrative staff who keep the day-to-day operations of the agency running smoothly.

Additionally, Adoption Planning is under contract with the Georgia Department of Human Resources to handle the Interstate Compact on the placement of children responsibilities for all private agency and independent interstate adoptions.
