Our goal at Athens-Oconee Skin Cancer & Dermatology, LLC, is to provide personalized service and quality care for your medical and cosmetic surgical dermatology needs. Stella M. Bulengo, MD, is a board certified dermatologist and dermatopathologist with over 20 years experience treating skin disorders and skin cancers. She has devoted her entire career to providing patients of all ages with high quality care in a compassionate and professional environment.
Dermatopathology
Dr. Bulengo has the unique advantage of combining her skills as a dermatologist and dermatopathologist to provide an accurate microscopic biopsy diagnosis for her patients and those referred by her colleagues. This allows her to provide her patients with timely and accurate diagnoses of melanoma, skin cancers, rashes, atypical moles, and cutaneous lymphoma. She works with a state-of-the-art processing lab together with pathologists onsite and well trained histopathologists; this allows preparation of the slides in a timely manner. Athens-Oconee Skin Cancer & Dermatology, LLC, specializes in diseases of the skin, hair, nails, dermatologic surgeries and also provides laser surgery, cosmetic procedures, and skin rejuvenating products.
Dr. Bulengo has several publications in renowned medical journals, is a recipient of awards and honors and in 2007 received the Gold Leader Volunteerism Award from the American Academy of Dermatology for her voluntary work in Tanzania and in her community. She is an advocate in the field of dermatology, promoting skin cancer detection and prevention as a public service on television and in newspapers.
