Pro-Pump

bowen's septic tank servicePro-Pump Is Only Available from Septic Professionals

This commercial strength facultative bacteria is:

• Nonhazardous
• Non-caustic
• Non-pathogenic

• It is 100% natural, it is not genetically engineered
   or mutated.
• It works aerobically or anaerobically.
• It works with or without light.
• It works in an environment of low to high acidity and low to high alkalinity.
• It has a shelf life of 3-5 years.
• It can be stored in all climatic regions. If frozen it keeps its integrity after thawing.

The bacterial populations have been determined by repetitive plate count to be in excess of 350 million organisms per milliliter.

What makes PRO-PUMP so unique is that the adult bacteria in the jug are dormant and remain that way until it is poured into your system. Then these live adult facultative bacteria will immediately revive and begin feeding and reproducing while attacking the organic waste matter in your pipes, septic tanks, and leachfields.

PRO-PUMP is authorized for sale in most states. Only five states require additional testing and further approvals. In all five states where further testing was required, PRO-PUMP has been approved. They are:

Washington State Department of Health - approved.
Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection - approved.
Hawaii Department of Agriculture - approved.
Connecticut - approved.
Wisconsin - approved.

RootX

bowen's septic tank serviceRootX is a non-systemic, patented chemical root control formula which only kills the roots it comes in contact with, not the tree or plant itself. The active ingredient Dichlobenil, will not only kill roots, but will also prevent regrowth for up to one year. RootX is the #1 environmentally safe, simple, and effective solution to pipeline root control.

How Does It Work
bowen's septic tank serviceRootX is packaged as two dry powder components in one container. When these components are dry mixed and come in contact with water, such as pouring into the toilet or an outside sewer cleanout, they create a thick sticky foam. This foam fills the entire pipe, coating the roots and pipeline surfaces with the RootX root killing formula.

RootX leaves a residue above the water line that continues to kill roots and inhibit new growth for up to 12 months. RootX is guaranteed for up to 12 months after application.

The active ingredient in RootX, Dichlobenil, is applied at concentrations of .55% or 5500 parts per million. This is 55 times the level needed to kill root tissue exposed to Dichlobenil from 30 minutes to 1 hour.

Safe and Easy Application
RootX is packaged in convenient, easy to use, 2 and 4-pound jars. Special training or equipment is not required for application. Simply unscrew the lid of a RootX jar and pour the contents into a small pail and mix the two components (dry). Then pour 2-pounds of RootX directly into the toilet or outside cleanout. A 4-pound application should be done in the outside cleanout only, because the volume of foam created cannot be completely flushed down the toilet. RootX is sold by the case (12 jars per case). RootX will not cause chemical burns and is safe for workers when handled according to the directions for use.

Restricted water usage is suggested from four to six hours after a RootX treatment to assure absorption of the chemical into the roots.

• Kills and speeds decay of roots in sanitary and storm lines.
• Environmentally safe, nationwide EPA acceptance.
• Builds business profits through annual root maintenance programs.
• Easy to use, no special equipment or permits required.
• RootX is sold exclusively to professional plumbers and drain cleaners.

Septic Sense and Bio-Tab

bowen's septic tank serviceToday's home septic tank system is under assault like never before. With the growing use of chemicals in the products we use everyday to maintain our standards of living, our septic systems are often the unwilling recipients of damaging substances. These substances are foreign to the natural ecological process and can slow down or completely stop the natural digestion of septic system waste.

The Reprint. In this excellent article "Septic Sense" we have had reprinted for you, Mr. Jack Horst has written about the proper design and operation of a home septic system. We would, however, like to point out that his design is the "ideal" design and is by no means the way most septic systems have been installed. While most septic tank additives do little to help and often impair the natural action within the tank, BIO-TAB™ has been specifically formulated to act naturally and in harmony with the septic system's normal functions.

BIO-TAB™ is a Biological Activator. Unlike many other products on the market, BIO-TAB™ does not cause the sludge to be redeposited in the drain fields. Instead, BIO-TAB™ increases the anaerobic bacteria action of the septic tank and the Aerobic action in the drain field, promoting better breakdown of the solids and waste throughout the system. Of the products on the market today, most rely on chemical action to treat the problem or provide only a small amount of biological activators. Of these two approaches, the second is the best, but that still falls short of what is needed.

Anaerobic and Aerobic. Most households today use a wide variety of commercial products in their day-to-day operation. Few, if any, are "ecologically" compatible. They contain various toxins that can kill the microorganisms the septic system depends on to operate properly. Septic systems are made up of two main units that need each other to properly dispose of the waste. The first part is the septic tank, where the waste water and solids are deposited. The second is the drain field, where the waste is allowed to drain and filter into the ground. To properly treat the waste added to the system, two kinds of bacteria are needed - anaerobic and aerobic. While each of these bacteria produce enzymes that break down the natural solids and sludge, they are activated and function in different areas of the septic system. BIO-TAB™ contains highly concentrated amounts of anaerobic and aerobic bacteria. Let me describe for you the differences between these bacteria and where they work. When BIO-TAB™ is first added to the septic system, the tablet sinks to the bottom of the tank and dissolves where there is little, if any, oxygen. This is where the anaerobic (works in the absence of oxygen) bacteria work best. Here they solubalize and break up the solids and sludge. The liquid then passes into the drain fields to be absorbed into the ground. In the drain field liquid waste is exposed to the air. There, the aerobic (works in the presence of oxygen) bacteria go to work to continue the breakdown. This allows the natural filter action of the surrounding ground to remain unclogged in order to naturally absorb and purify the waste. BIO-TAB's use will aid and support this natural digestion of waste, helping the septic system to successfully complete its role.
