Who
Pays For Home Health?
Carraway
Home Health is a Medicare/Medicaid certified agency.
Today, most insurance companies and managed-care organizations
offer home health care to their beneficiaries. Home
health is a cost effective service allowing patients
to recover in their own homes. Carraway Home Health
currently has provider relationships with many companies.
If you have questions regarding home health benefits,
call our patient referral center and a nurse will verify
coverage for you.

Medicare
Coverage Guidelines

Services
must be ordered by a physician. |

Services
must be reasonable and necessary to treat the illness/injury. |

Patient
must be homebound (a normal inability to leave home
requiring a considerable, taxing effort. Infrequent,
short absences are allowed.) |

Patient
must require a skilled primary service (nursing,
PT, or ST). |

Service
provided must be intermittent or part-time. |
If
all the above conditions are met, then additional services
are allowed including home health aide, medical social
services, and occupational therapy.
