Catalina Pools are Manufactured to Last
a Lifetime!
A quality fiberglass pool is manufactured from expensive,
high quality raw materials. The quality is controlled from
start to finish. A strong pool is delivered to your backyard
and is ready to be installed quickly. Not all manufacturers
use the same products. A quality fiberglass pool should be
warranted for a lifetime due to their structural superiority.
Check your warranties. Catalina Pools carry a limited lifetime
warranty.
Stronger Than Concrete?
Fiberglass materials are used to manufacture airplanes, boats,
the space shuttle and to strengthen freeway overpasses to
withstand earthquakes. Fabrication of a fiberglass pool shell
requires handcrafted laminations enabling the fabricator to
exercise rigid quality control. This results in a durable
shell having approximately ten times the tensile strength
and 17 times the flexural strength of gunite. Concrete is
a rigid product. Because it is inflexible, concrete must have
expansion joints to allow the concrete to crack in a designated
place. Due to inherent flexibility of one-piece fiberglass
pools, they possess a higher resistance to structural failure,
and are not damaged by freezing.
Floating Pools?
Just about everyone has heard the story about fiberglass
pools "floating" or "popping" out of the
ground. Fortunately, common sense tells the true story. The
theory of displacement applies to pools, just like boats.
Regardless of what a pool is manufactured from: concrete,
steel, fiberglass or wood, if watertight, the pool or boat
will float, but that is only if the level outside the pool
shell is higher than the water level inside the pool. The
force of gravity holds all pools down. Fiberglass pools do
not just "pop" out of the ground.
Quick
and Easy Installation!
Everyone knows someone who has had a gunite pool built. The
construction in the yard can last for months, whereas the
fiberglass pool is delivered to the job site ready for installation.
It is not manufactured on the site. Installation of a fiberglass
pool can be completed in a matter of days.
Relax, Enjoy Your Pool, Less Time
Spent on Pool Care!
Fiberglass pools require very little maintenance. The less
you do, the better they look. The reason? The smooth, non-porous
surface of fiberglass doesn't leave room for algae to hide
or dirt to fall into it, thereby, minimizing long hours commonly
associated with pool cleaning. It is also gentle on your pocketbook,
skin, and swimwear. The occasional sweep down of your walls
and keeping your chemicals up is simple and takes very little
time.
A Fiberglass Pool is a Permanent Home Improvement!
A fiberglass pool is a permanent home improvement. You do
not replace it in a few years. The structural integrity of
the pool shell is such that it can be moved from one location
to another should the need arise.
