10.5:1 "Hurricane" Forged Pistons - $325.00 per Pair
These pistons were
developed by Nallin Racing to work with Thunderstorm cylinder
heads with total performance and durability in mind. These pistons
feature a unique crown design that vastly improves flame travel
and volumetric efficiency while decreasing detonation tendencies.
In some cases, the volumetric efficiency of the motor is so improved
that up to 10 degrees of total timing advance
may be removed! These pistons feature decreased weight, which
improves the overall balance percentage of the motor and decreases
vibration. The motor is also allowed to rev quicker, which translates
into much improved throttle response. The wrist pin oiling system
has been improved, and the wrist pin has been re-designed. The
wrist pin is made from ultra-strong 4340 chromoly alloy and is
taper walled in design to decrease
mass without sacrificing strength. The "Hurricane" pistons in
conjunction with NRHS Thunderstorm cylinder heads and Millenium
Technology Cylinders have produced over 100 rwhp repeatedly with
stock bore and stroke and have been proven to work well with EFI
X 1s and S3s. The valve reliefs are also pre-cut for camshafts
up to .600 in. lift, so they need not be removed to facilitate
large cams, and the worry of valve to piston clearance is relieved.
