Frequently Asked Questions

Q. How is stained glass made?
A. Once a pattern is designed and picked out, the glass is chosen. Then, the glass is cut to fit the pattern, and any sharp
edges are grinded off. Afterwards, one of two techniques is used. It is either foiled or set into lead where it is then soldered and cleaned.
Q. How long does it take to make stained glass?
A. It depends on the size and amount of detail. Some small pieces take as little as 2-3 hours, but larger pieces can take
several weeks to complete. Creating an original pattern adds to the amount of time it takes to complete a project.
Q. Do you install your work?
A. Currently, I am not equipped to install, but I can make the piece to fit your specifications, and you can have someone
install it for you.
Q. Do you teach classes?
A. My studio is too small to teach classes, but I would be glad to give a demonstration.
Q. How is the fused glass jewelry made?
A. It is made by layering thin pieces of glass and melting them in a kiln. A special kind of glass called dichroic is used to create stunning, sparkling pieces.
