Dr. Roskind has over 24 years of clinical experience in his field and founded his medical practice in Miami in 1982. As a plastic surgeon, Dr. Roskind's primary interests lie in enhancing facial and body image, including breast surgery, liposculpture, and laser surgery.

Dr. Joel Roskind is Board Certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery, one of the 24 specialty boards of the American Board of Medical Specialties, and he is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, the nation's most prestigious organization of surgeons and surgical specialists.

Dr. Roskind and his staff keep current with the ever changing advances in this growing field of plastic surgery. They regularly attend teaching sessions and courses dealing with the administration and practice of the specialty of plastic surgery. Dr. Roskind serves on the staff of all the hospitals of the Baptist Health Systems as well as on the staff of Surgical Park Ambulatory Center. His office facility is fully accredited by the American Association for Accreditation of Ambulatory Surgical Facilities, the gold standard of certification for office-based outpatient surgery centers. Also he is certified as an inspector for the accrediting organization.

Media Lectures and Publications
Dr. Roskind has been quoted in numerous national fashion magazines. Television stations often call upon the doctor’s expertise regarding current cosmetic surgery issues.

Dr. Roskind is published and has given numerous papers and presentations to organizations such as the Bascom-Palmer Eye Institute, the University of Miami Plastic Surgery Grand Rounds, and the St. Louis University Hospital’s Plastic Surgery Department, and has presented (in Spanish) to the Association Medica Nicaraguense in Managua at the Congreso Medico Nacional.

Academic
Dr. Roskind is a Voluntary Clinical Assistant Professor of Surgery and is a Member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, having served on their socioeconomic and malpractice committees. His other responsibilities have been as a member of the attending and teaching staff of the North Shore University Hospital in Long Island, New York, instructing plastic surgeons, plastic surgery residents, general surgeons and residents, as well as medical students from two universities. He has been involved with the teaching programs of the Nassau County Medical Center and the State University of New York at Stony Brook. Dr. Roskind’s other memberships include the American Medical Association, the Florida Medical Association, the Dade County Medical Society, the Greater Miami Society of Plastic Surgeons, the Florida Society of Plastic Surgeons, University of Miami School of Nursing and the prestigious New York Academy of Medicine.

United States Service
Dr. Roskind served his country as a Lieutenant Commander in the United States Navy and worked as one of a three-man plastic surgery team at the Naval Hospital in San Diego, California, the world’s largest military hospital. While with the Navy, Dr. Roskind participated with the University of California at San Diego Plastic Surgery Department in various teaching programs for the school, and traveled with the University Plastic Surgery Team to Mexico to do surgery on underprivileged children with cleft lip, palate and other congenital anomalies.
