Mr.
Huff's background includes a tenure as a judicial law clerk
and includes over seven years as a prosecutor at the state
and local level, and more than thirteen years defending criminal
cases. He received his Juris Doctor of South Carolina
School of Law and served on the school's honor council.
His
bar admissions include, the State and U.S. District Court
of South Carolina, the US Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals
and the United States Supreme Court.
Mr.
Huff's criminal practice is primarily in DUI Defense. He is
a recognized speaker at DUI Continuing Legal Education seminars and judicial training seminars.
He is a contributing author on DUI and traffic law publications
including Handling Traffic Cases in South Carolina, 1st,
2nd, and 3rd Editions as well as the South Carolina
DUI Defense Manual 3rd Edition.
In
1992 he was a founding member of the South Carolina Association
of Criminal Defense Lawyers and served as it's president
in 1996. In 1994, he was a founding member of the National
College for DUI Defense and has remained a member since. He
has served on the SC Bar Association, Ethics Advisory Committee
since 1992 and is a member of the SC Trial Lawyers Association
and National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.
In
2000, Mr. Huff was appointed by the Chief Justice of the Supreme
Court to the newly formed State Magistrates Advisory Council.
